I saw a
little girl
with
lovely
shining
red hair.
"You have beautiful hair," I said. "Do you like it, yourself?"
She was
wide-eyed
and smiling ~
but silent,
bouncing from foot to foot
in the shallow end.
"Well," I said. "Just you remember. It is really gorgeous. Not everyone gets a head of hair like that."
I was thinking, all the time,
of another small girl
with the loveliest red hair
imaginable
in any universe.
